July 22 Update

Jun 22, 06:23 PM

The wedding at St. Simons was very nice, a simple but elegant ceremony at the Lovely Lane Chapel at Epworth by the Sea. The entire occasion was a joy for Sandy and me, primarily because of the people involved. They are dear friends. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of St. Simons and had our fill of crab cakes and shrimp and grits at Barbara Jeans.

Last week was the meeting of our North Georgia Annual Conference. I was the speaker at the Asbury Alumni Dinner along with Maxie Dunnam, a dear friend and Chancellor of the Seminary. Maxie is among the endorsers of The Will of God. Both he and I spoke of the challenge before us and the need of capable leaders to meet that challenge.

Sandy and I taped a television interview this week which will air on our local stations in the near future. The feature focused on the book and our ministry.

We are connecting with many of our dear friends in and around Athens and it has been wonderful doing so. On Thursday night, there was a reception in honor of my Doctorate. It was a terrific occasion, attended by so many more than I ever dreamed or imagined. Prior to the reception, several men gathered for prayer. How powerful it is when men can pray together. Seeing our friends and supporters has reminded us of just how much we love the precious people who surround us. They (you) are all so dear to us.

This week, I have a radio interview with a station in Detroit. Sandy and I go to Orlando on July 13-15 for the International Christian Retailers Show at the Orlando Convention Center. I am doing a book signing there on Monday, July 14 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

I realize that many of you who hit this site are involved in our lives and ministry. Thank you for staying connected to us. Some of you may look in from a distance and are unknown to us. Regardless, thank you for reading this. Please know that we pray even for you whom we do not know. May God bless you all.
